Volunteer Health Champions

Helping Others To Be Healthier and Happier Your Way !

What's involved in the Health Champion role?

Health Champions are members of the public who motivate and help their friends, families, work colleagues and neighbours to lead healthier and happier lives. As volunteers they receive training and support to equip them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make a difference. They draw on their own life experience, ideas and understanding of their local communities.

Examples range from leading organised health walks, chair-robics for older people, men’s football , cycling and gardening for people with learning disabilities. They also talk to people informally as part of their daily lives e.g. at the school gates or actively share social media posts with their wider networks.
